Abstract

The hospitality and tourism sector is a complex transnational segment of the economy that provides opportunities at the national level to replenish the revenue side of the budget, attract investment, ensure effective demand, increase the number of jobs, as well as restore health and maintain the standard of living of the country’s population. The Russian hospitality industry, which has experienced the negative consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic, is at the stage of recovery and is using the opening opportunities to form new products adapted to the changed format of travel. The article examines the actual state of the Russian market of hotel services, analyzes the competitive conditions for various accommodation facilities and the social demands of post-COVID society in terms of recreation and impressions. The authors note the fact that the available hotel resources are limited and there is no national system for accommodation search and booking that can fill the niche that Booking.com has occupied since 1996 together with Airbnb (since 2008). The problem lies in the fact that none of the existing Russian accommodation search and booking aggregators provide conditions for equal competition for various accommodation facilities, while it is extremely important to form an adequate market supply in response to the significantly increased demand in the domestic tourism market since 2020. The article proposes the software architecture of the national accommodation search and booking aggregator, the development and implementation of which can ensure the effective use of the room fund limited resources in equal competitive conditions. The software, considering the task assigned to it, is divided into client and server parts. The interaction of the system parts is based on the principles of Representational State Transfer (representational state transfer, RESTful approach), which allows you to create a scalable and flexible architecture. The economic justification of the total cost of remuneration of the project team is given.

Keywords: software architecture, competitiveness of the hotel, competitive conditions, national accommodation search and booking aggregator, a new travel format
