DIGITAL TWINS AS A TOOL TO IMPROVE THE EFFICIENCY OF FIXED ASSETS EXPLOITATION IN INDUSTRY
Abstract
In the conditions of modern industry, characterized by ever-increasing competition and rapid development of technology, the application of digital twins becomes a key element in the asset management strategy. This paper is devoted to the study of the role of digital twins as a tool to improve the efficiency of fixed assets operation, which is a highly relevant scientific problem. The purpose of the study is to identify the impact of digital twins on productivity performance, financial sustainability and organizational structure of production processes. In the course of the work several interrelated tasks were solved. First of all, existing theoretical frameworks concerning the concept of digital twins and their application in different industries were analyzed. Next, an empirical study was carried out based on the values of performance indicators expressing the degree of implementation of digital technologies. An important step was the study of experts' and employees' perceptions of the role of digital twins in companies' operational activities, which allowed for a deeper understanding of the cultural and managerial aspects of this process. The research methodology integrated both quantitative and qualitative methods, including statistical analysis of open-source data and semi-structured interviews with company representatives. Analysis of the collected data showed a significant reduction in equipment downtime and an increase in labor productivity. The implementation of digital twins was found to reduce operating costs and increase profitability, achieving an ROI of 80% in the first year of implementation. The results support the hypothesis that digital twins have a significant impact on asset maintenance management, creating the prerequisites for rapid response to changes in operating conditions. The study also points to the importance of training and creating a positive organizational culture that promotes effective technology adoption. Works related to training and education of employees are identified as an important factor affecting the successful implementation of projects related to digitalization. The practical significance of the study lies in the possibility of forming recommendations for enterprises seeking to implement digital twins.
