Abstract

The issue of improving the competitiveness of Russian timber industry enterprises within a perpetually evolving market environment underpins the relevance of this research. The study's scientific and practical importance stems from the imperative to discover avenues for enhancing efficiency by leveraging internal reserves, with a particular focus on human resources and the corresponding methodologies for their application. The article analyzes the efficiency of labor resource utilization at timber industry enterprises in the Novosibirsk region, taking into account organizational indicators such as personnel structure, which in turn reflects the organizational communication processes of decision-makers. The aim of the article is to analyze indicators of economic efficiency in relation to organizational indicators of labor resource utilization efficiency at timber industry enterprises. The methodological basis of the research comprises the analysis of statistical data, comparative analysis, content analysis, and the generalization of practices from leading industry enterprises. The methodological approach developed by the author, applied at the initial stage of utilizing labor resources by structuring personnel according to categories of involvement in production and determining the corresponding labor structure, makes it possible to assess the actual demand for personnel, form a staff structure relevant to the planned indicators of the economic efficiency and productivity of the enterprise as a system. The obtained results substantiate the necessity of employing a systems approach to investigate the mechanisms underlying workforce structure formation. This structure serves a dual function, acting both as an indicator of labor resource utilization and as a metric for the productivity of managerial labor. In the context of a knowledge economy dominance and the increasing importance of human capital, which incorporates managerial labor, the implementation of systematic monitoring and the development of predictive models for organizational and economic parameters constitutes an imperative task. Its resolution is a prerequisite for ensuring the effective attainment of the long-term strategic objectives outlined in the Strategy for the Development of the Russian Federation's Timber Industry Complex for the period up to 2035.
