MODERN GAMING TECHNOLOGIES IN HIGHER EDUCATION IN THE REGION: PRACTICE ANALYSIS AND IMPLEMENTATION PROSPECTS

Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of the possibilities of introducing gaming technologies into the educational process of higher education institutions in the region in a changing educational landscape. The relevance is due to the rapid digital transformation of the education system, the need to increase student motivation and engagement, as well as the growing demand from the labor market for specialists with modern interactive and gaming communication tools. The purpose of the article is to study the latest gaming technologies in higher education at regional universities and highlight the prospects for their integration into all educational programs. It is important to study the current experience of using game formats in the educational programs of Russian universities, analyze the level of implementation of game practices in regional universities and develop adapted recommendations for their integration into educational training programs in the areas of Advertising and public relations at Rostov State University of Economics and Don State Technical University. The study conducted a content analysis of educational programs and public digital resources of universities, identified barriers and promising formats for the use of gaming technologies. The necessity of a systematic approach to the implementation of game mechanics, taking into account industry specifics and regional peculiarities, is substantiated. Practical recommendations on the integration of gaming technologies into the work programs of disciplines and activities outside the university classrooms are offered. The results of the research can be used in the modernization of educational programs in the field of advertising and public relations in the digital media space, as well as in the development of methodological materials for teachers of specialized disciplines of both universities with the scaling of experience in regional universities.
