Abstract

In every modern educational organization, including the higher education system, there is a management team designed to make strategically important effective decisions regarding the provision of funding for the university activities, its long-term development, raising the academic status, etc. The formation of a positive motivational environment for the university management team is one of the most important tasks, the solution of which ensures the achievement of its strategic goals by increasing the intensity and efficiency of employees’ work. The purpose of the research presented in this article is to determine the motivational profile of the management team (according to the methodology of V.I. Gerchikov’s typological motivation model) of one of the regional university’s structural units and to determine effective tools to stimulate the work of the management team employees to achieve the strategic goals of the educational organization. At the first stage of the study, the questionnaire answers of each member of the university structural unit management team to the questions of the standard test for assessing motivation have been processed and the individual motivational profile of each of them has been calculated. The leading types of each of the managers’ motivation are revealed – “professional” and / or “patriotic”. At the second stage, the motivational profile of the management team as a whole has been determined: it is mostly characterized by the “professional” type of motivation, the second most important is the “patriotic” type of motivation; such types of motivation as “instrumental”, “master’s” and “lumpenized” (in decreasing order of their importance) are not dominant, but they can manifest themselves with inadequate stimulation. At the third stage of the study, the most effective types and forms of labor stimulation for each type of labor motivation of the members and management team as a whole are formulated.
