INNOVATION ACTIVITY AS THE MAIN DRIVER OF RUSSIA'S ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

Abstract

The article examines the fundamental role of innovative development in the modern world and its impact on the economic prosperity of the state. The concepts of innovation and innovation activity, their impact on the social and economic aspects of society are analyzed. The article examines the evolution of innovation activity in Russia over the past two decades. The historical context of innovation development in the country is analyzed. The article highlights the key problems of innovation development, and notes the lack of an integrated approach to innovation support. The paper suggests ways to solve these problems through the creation of an effective incentive system both within companies and in order to attract external partners. Considerable attention is paid to the role of tax policy as a tool for stimulating innovation, emphasizing the need for an integrated approach to assessing the effectiveness of tax incentives and their impact on innovation activity. The analysis of the current state and prospects for the development of innovation activities is carried out, practical recommendations are proposed to improve the situation in this area, including the following key areas: creation of technological infrastructure through the formation of national platforms and technology centers with a full set of necessary resources and conditions for the implementation of innovative projects; strengthening government support by increasing funding for innovation from both the state budget and through attracting private investment in this area; modernization of the educational system to train qualified specialists, which requires the introduction of modern teaching methods and innovative technologies into the educational process; creation of a favorable environment for the development of innovative companies, including tax incentives, simplification of administrative procedures and comprehensive support for small and medium-sized businesses; a demonstration effect of the introduction of innovations in the public sector, which can become a catalyst for the development of innovation in the private sector of the economy.
