THE IMPORTANCE OF FORMING DIGITAL COMPETENCIES OF EMPLOYEES IN THE HEALTHCARE MARKET
Abstract
The formation and development of digital competencies is a key priority for professional education and staff retraining in medicine in the context of global digital transformation. This process requires an integrated approach covering technical, informational, communicative, legal, and reflective aspects of the professional activities of doctors and paramedical personnel. The relevance of the study is due to the need to increase the competitiveness of medical personnel and the efficiency of the healthcare system in the era of active introduction of information and communication technologies. The aim of the work is to determine how the possession of digital competencies contributes to the increased demand for medical personnel and the optimization of work processes. The research methodology involves a qualitative analysis of scientific literature, regulatory legal acts, public reports and statistics, as well as generalization of automation practices and results of surveys of management teams of medical organizations. The article explores the structure and significance of these competencies against the backdrop of the industry's digitalization. The main directions of their formation are examined in detail: from technical software skills to information literacy, digital communication, legal awareness in the digital environment, and the capacity for continuous professional development. Special attention is paid to practical tools, such as working with electronic medical records, telemedicine systems, as well as the application of artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies for diagnostics and data analysis. Based on an analysis of the experience of implementing federal projects, assessing the digital maturity of Russian regions and identified barriers (skills shortage, cybersecurity issues, lack of standardization), practical recommendations are presented for developing the digital environment in medical institutions. The study confirms that the targeted development of digital competencies among doctors and paramedical personnel directly influences the quality of care, the optimization of work processes, and, consequently, the enhancement of their professional demand and competitiveness in modern digital society. The results of the work can be used for designing and updating educational programs in higher and additional professional medical education, as well as for developing digital transformation strategies at the level of medical organizations.
